Upload rejected due to a restricted area in the past (Netherlands)
I’m not sure if this is the right place to find a solution to this problem. The Belgian Panoramax server has been up and running since last week. I was uploading photos from a bike ride that crossed the Belgian-Dutch border. Sequences of 184 and 427 photos were rejected because they were allegedly taken in a restricted area (in the Netherlands). However, these are photos of tourist bike paths and hiking trails where there are no military or similar installations or areas. This concerns former quarries that have been converted into nature reserves for tourist purposes. For one area, OpenStreetMap lists a former ammunition depot. Apparently, the photos were rejected based on outdated data. The roads are, however, shown on Mapillary and Google Street View.
One area is the Kerkveld locality in Maastricht, around https://www.mapillary.com/app/? pKey=1038383988730252, and the other area is Plateau Noord and the ENCI quarry in Maastricht, including Mergelweg, the old Fort Sint Pieter, the Maasboulevard, and the access road to Parking D’n Observant https://www.mapillary.com/app/? pKey=1305189098438905 It would be a shame if such tourist attractions couldn’t be included on Panoramax. What can be done about this?

Hey Erik, the OSMBE server is restricted to only regions in Belgium (to prevent our server to become a massive global/European wide server. for storage reasons).
I assume all the images you were trying to upload that failed were in NL?
They were indeed just at the other side of the border.
Maybe it would be better to have a little extra space of a few kilometers at the other side of the border because there are cycling and hiking routes that follow the border and cross them from time to time.
The Belgium Panoramax server only accepts images taken inside the Belgian borders. Pictures from a road on the border as Chemin : Kattenroth (1346433999) | OpenStreetMap are also rejected. During uploading you can get a message that it concerns a forbidden area as of military or other sensitive concern (Command Line Interface upload is clearer, saying that it is an excluded area).
I could upload the pictures from trips over and on the Dutch border to the Panoramax Test-NL server. So they aren’t lost.
