As mentioned in the first monthly online Panoramax meeting in english on Nov. 25th. We are looking for an additional domain name for Panormax that can be used globally. Panoramax.com, Panoramax.org and Panoramax.net are already in use so are not really an option. In consultation with Overflorian, we decided to create a poll on the forum to see which domain name we could capture to use as a global domain name later. By choosing and securing a domain name now, we won’t lose any time at the time we effectively need a global domain name.

Comme indiqué lors de la première réunion mensuelle en ligne de Panoramax, qui s’est tenue en anglais le 25 novembre. Nous sommes à la recherche d’un nom de domaine supplémentaire pour Panormax qui puisse être utilisé à l’échelle mondiale. Panoramax.com, Panoramax.org et Panoramax.net sont déjà utilisés et ne sont donc pas vraiment une option. En concertation avec Overflorian, nous avons décidé de créer un sondage sur le forum pour voir quel nom de domaine nous pourrions capturer pour l’utiliser plus tard comme nom de domaine global. En choisissant et en sécurisant un nom de domaine maintenant, nous ne perdrons pas de temps au moment où nous aurons effectivement besoin d’un nom de domaine global.

On ne peut pas voter pour 2 choix, mais le .site et le .app me semblent indiqués (donc je n’ai pas pu voter pour le .app, seulement pour le .site)

panoramax.foundation is good but a little premature

panoramax.xyz is currently the global domain, which has been mentionned in the meeting if I’m nto wrong.

What is missing is a website on it, and not only the direct acces to the meta-catalog.

It is an alternative to panoramax.com that we are looking for as it is already registered. How the structure of the different websites is put together I am not really into.

Or can for example panoramaxfoundation.com or panoramaxfoundation.org or panoramaxfoundation.net be used as a website on to off panoramax.xyz they are still free

I have made a new proposal to buy panoramax.com (the first $ proposal one way too low …) so I hope to be successful and hopefully this will solve this problem. But, of course, nothing’s sure.

it’s mainly the panoramax.org domain name that needs to be recovered, rather than the .com. Alternatively, panoramaxfoundation.org could be considered.

@cquest what do you think of these domain names?

If we can get a .com or .org that would be nice, but .xyz is fine for me and I don’t see the benefit of these new domains they are either too long or too specific.

I think that Panoramax.com, Panoramax.org and Panoramax.net should absolutely be an option on the poll.

Maybe we could ask them to change there name domain for some money ?

I agree, I think the “xyz” TLD name works okay for a “global”/meta panoramax page that provides details/information about the project etc. in addition to the meta catalog. The bigger question is what to put on that “global” page :slight_smile:

I feel like a “.org” would be a nice-to-have (I think .com/.net are not so important, .com potentially even confusing as it’s all but commercial), but if it’s too expensive to recover/the people don’t want to part with it, .xyz is okay too…
